BLDC Motor Solutions for Appliance Programmes

Brushless DC motors trade the induction motor’s beautiful simplicity for electronic control — and with it, efficiency, speed range and quietness that a fixed-speed induction motor cannot reach. BLDC solutions are part of Nanyang’s current official range. This page is about specifying them properly: as a motor-and-controller system, quoted per project.

01 The Decision

When BLDC earns its electronics

An induction motor like the nine in our catalogue needs no controller at all — connect it to the mains and it runs. A BLDC motor replaces brushes with an electronic controller that switches the windings in sequence, which buys variable speed, high efficiency across that speed range, compact size for its output and low acoustic noise. The costs are real too: the controller is a second engineered product, with firmware, EMC behaviour and a supply chain of its own, and the system price is higher than an induction motor of similar duty.

The programmes that justify BLDC share a pattern: the machine’s selling points depend on speed control or efficiency labelling — premium washing machines with load-adaptive wash profiles, quiet night operation, compact high-speed fans and pumps. If your machine runs at one speed against a simple load, the induction range will serve it better and cheaper; we would rather sell you the right motor than the fashionable one. Where BLDC and direct drive meet — the premium washer platform — the two pages of this site belong together: start with direct drive for the mechanical architecture, then this page for the motor system.

02 Specifying

A BLDC quotation is a system specification

  • Application & duty: the appliance, load characteristic, speed and torque envelope across the cycle
  • Controller scope: whether the controller is part of the supply, and the interface your main board expects (signals, protocols, connectors)
  • Electrical: input voltage range and frequency for your markets, and any standby or efficiency targets your energy label requires
  • Mechanical: envelope, shaft, mounting — and whether the design pairs with a direct drive layout
  • Validation: your test plan, target certifications for the finished appliance, sample quantities and programme volumes

The company profile behind this range describes an integrated maker — R&D, production and sales under one roof since 1992, with an enameled wire plant among the plants its profile describes, and an official range extending to DD motors and BLDC solutions. For a system product like BLDC, that integration is the substance of the offer: motor, winding and application engineering in one conversation.

03 Questions

BLDC, answered plainly

Why no BLDC model list or power range here?

Because BLDC supply is engineered per programme and the company publishes no model table for it. Any wattage printed here would be invented. Whether a data sheet can be produced for your programme is assessed during scoping — before you are asked to commit to anything.

Can you match an existing BLDC motor in our machine?

Matching work starts from the existing unit: send the motor and controller data, or the units themselves as samples, with your volumes. Feasibility is answered honestly — including when the answer is that the induction range fits better.

Do you supply the controller as well?

Controller scope is agreed per programme — say in your enquiry whether you want motor only or motor plus controller, and the quotation is structured accordingly.

Scope it as a system

Application, speed envelope, controller scope, volumes — send those four and the scoping reply will tell you plainly whether BLDC is your right motor.
